Hello Dear Readers,
This is all a bit strange to me. I've dipped my toe into the waters of the bloggersphere before-years ago. The space was saturated and there was no real chance anyone seeing my content. If you're finding yourself here at this maiden post, you likely came from my TikTok channel. Unlike before, I’m honored with a firmer foundation of readers-Readers to which I'm grateful for their support and encouragement. Also thankful the Substack platform is permissive of real communication instead of forced gibberish. We will discuss hard things here and I will not mince my words. This is a voyage, an adventure that we're all on together. Right now-collectively and worldwide-we're in choppy waters and so it can be “safely” assumed that we will be uncomfortable in this space at times. It’s okay though-I padded the deck with swabs.. or wait, was I supposed to swab the deck?…
So, on to me… I guess: *ahem*
I'm Celtic Ginge and I have the weight of the world on my mind. Born at a time the world has maintained a perpetual state of unprecedented times-politically, socially, and economically (I'm terrible at maths, so don't worry about that last one). And as a neurodivergent, chronically ill, queer, loudmouth, unruly, femme presenting human who cares so much for so many, I have a few things to say…. Away We Go..
A bit of my background:
I come from two families. One is my adoptive family, and the other is my biological family. One family is filled with medical professionals and the other family is filled with mental health professionals. So I was going to be a little odd from the start.
My working background is in live music-in all of its aspects-for over 30 years, as well as a cornucopia of other jobs used to supplement my music mistress. Remodeling/construction, IT, bartending, bouncing, sommelier, educator, project management, process management, etc.. I've juggled a lot of balls to hold on to my one true love.
Like most people, I gained my addiction to music as a performer, and quickly became infatuated with audio engineering and arranging before I even got into my teens. I've directed and taught music & theory, I've worked in radio and I've done pretty much everything you can at a concert behind the scenes. I'm currently taking a certification in applied AI part of my escape clause-given the threats facing our country.
In light of the social climate, we’ll go a little deeper in this self-portrait: I’m pansexual and genderqueer. My pronouns are she/they but never him 😁. Late in life coming out and sadly spent a lot of my life as comphet(compulsory heteronormative). I say sadly because: all my life, I had crushes on all genders and believing my only choice was hetero kept me from some real potential. But don't despair, in that comphet life, I loved big! I have raised and loved several children as my own, but I am child-free by choice. I am a multiple time small business owner-not because they fail, but because you’ve got to partition that stuff out.
I'm a survivor of domestic violence, as well as various degrees of sexual assault and rape; I've been stabbed once and shot at more times than I can count. I am a survivor and I am resourceful. We'll leave things there for the time being, with the promise that has needed- I will offer more personal information to qualify or quantify.
Now that my introduction is out of the way.. *Exhales* We’ll move on to more important matters.
